The successful candidate will be expected to teach general education courses as well as electives within the department (at both the upper division as well as lower division levels) as do all faculty in the department. Competitive reassigned time is available for research and other service at the department, college or university level. However, the teaching load for the first two years is reduced by 3 units per semester to a 3/3 load. The standard teaching load is 12 units (4 courses per semester). All faculty are expected to serve on departmental and/or university committees, contribute to teaching effectiveness, and demonstrate successful research, publication and other scholarly/professional/creative activities in their field of specialization.
